The Action Resource Centre is home to the Blaenymaes, Portmead & Penplas Development Trust and has been open since 2001. They have a community cafe on site which provides a healthy eating option and a buffet service. There is a state of the art computer suite which provides all levels of IT courses from beginner to genius. There is open access available to the public, with online services and printing facilities. Other courses are also provided there, such as business studies, basic skills, french, tai-chi and many more. The Communities First development staff are based there, working in partnership with residents, service providers and agencies to encourage community development and participation .
